Target Group
- a Principal/ Teacher from a Government, Semi-Government, Private or International School or a Piriven and other Educational Institution or
- a SLEAS or SLTES Officer, ISA, Senior Teacher Consultant or
- a member of the academic staff of the NIE or
- a member of the academic staff of a National College of Education or
- any other academic who is interested in educational research.
Objectives
The purpose of the "Diploma in Educational Research Methodology" programme, is to advance the research skills of the practitioners in the Sri Lankan education system and empowering them on research based educational activities. Further it raises practitioners', awareness of the importance of research-based policy decision making process.
Eligibility
The candidate should have a minimum of three ordinary passes in any subject stream of the GCE A/L Examination in one and the same sitting
Programme Structure
The diploma programme is considered a one-year course aligning with SLQF Level 3 and consists of two consecutive semesters, with each semester lasting six months is worth of 30 credits and are allocated across seven courses and final research report over two semesters.
The teaching methodologies are based on a learner-centered approach, combining physical and online learning activities (e.g., individualized activities, group activities, case studies, surveys, and meta - analysis) which are carefully designed to impart knowledge, skills and attitudes required for a fully - fledged researcher.
The programme includes a total of 450 contact learning hours, 1050 self-learning hours, and 500 field work hours (Total: 2000 hours).

Registration Fee: Rupees 2,000.00
Programme Fee: Rupees 50,000.00 in 2 Instalment(s).
Examination Fees: In addition candidates have to pay examination fees when appling examinations.
